# Security

#### Security model & self-custody

Pool Party's security starts with an architectural choice: you never give up custody of your assets.

#### **What the contract enforces**

Each pool's logic runs on smart contracts. The manager decides allocations within the mandate, but cannot hold, withdraw, or appropriate users' assets. Your position is tied to your wallet, and only your wallet can access or redeem it.

#### **The mandate as a guardrail**

Each pool's mandate is immutable and on-chain. It defines the limits of the strategy, and nothing outside those limits is possible, because the contract prevents it. This applies to any manager, and will apply to AI agents when they become available.

#### **What is and isn't custodial**

Pool Party does not hold your assets and is not an intermediary. What exists is on-chain code that follows public rules. Self-custody protects control; it does not remove market, strategy, asset, or smart contract risk (see Understand risk).

{% hint style="info" %}
Self-custody is Pool Party's security foundation: your right is guaranteed by your wallet and the contract, not by a company's word.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pool-party-xyz.gitbook.io/pool-party-docs/pool-party-v2-docs/security-1.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
