# Withdraw

You can exit a pool according to its terms. Custody is yours, so a withdrawal is initiated from your wallet.

**How a withdrawal works**

When you withdraw, your shares are redeemed for the matching slice of the pool's holdings, according to the pool's terms. The amount you receive depends on the pool's performance up to that point.

**What you receive**

You can withdraw in **USDC**, or, optionally, **in kind**, receiving the strategy's current assets directly. Withdrawing in USDC converts your slice back to USDC, and a swap fee applies (see Fees you pay). Withdrawing in kind hands you the underlying assets as they are, with no conversion.

**Lock-up and timing**

> Withdrawal is instant, redeemed straight from your wallet, with no lock-up.

**Steps**

1. Open your position in the app.
2. Choose to withdraw, in full or in part, and pick **USDC** or **in kind**.
3. Confirm from your wallet. The contract redeems your shares and returns the corresponding value or assets.

**Cashing out to fiat**

If you like, you can use the off-ramp to cash out to fiat or top up crypto cards, without leaving the app.

{% hint style="info" %}
No manager or intermediary can block your withdrawal arbitrarily. Redemption follows the pool's mandate and terms, enforced by the contract.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pool-party-xyz.gitbook.io/pool-party-docs/pool-party-v2-docs/for-users/withdraw.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
