# Fees you pay

A pool has two fees: a performance fee and a swap fee.

**Performance fee**

* Charged on the pool's gains, not on what you deposit.
* Set by the manager, from 10% to 90%. Check it on the pool's page before depositing.
* If the pool produces no gains, there is no performance fee.

**Swap fee**

* Charged to convert USDC into the pool's assets when you deposit, and back to USDC when you withdraw in USDC.
* If you withdraw in kind (the strategy's current assets), no conversion is needed.

**Where the performance fee goes**

The performance fee pays the manager, and Pool Party takes a share of it. It only exists when there are gains: the manager and Pool Party are paid for performance, not for your deposit.

{% hint style="info" %}
Incentives are aligned: the manager is paid on performance, so the manager only earns on the results a pool delivers.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pool-party-xyz.gitbook.io/pool-party-docs/pool-party-v2-docs/for-users/fees-you-pay.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
