# Deposit into a pool

Depositing into a pool is straightforward, and you keep custody the whole time.

**Steps**

1. **Connect your wallet.** Social login is supported.
2. **Have USDC.** Bring crypto or buy directly with the on-ramp. You don't pick a network: Pool Party handles it. If you don't hold the right asset on the pool's network, the interface offers a bridge inline.
3. **Choose the pool** and review its mandate, holdings, manager, and fees.
4. **Deposit in USDC.** The pool's contract records your share, tied to your wallet, and your USDC is put to work in the strategy. There is no share token to hold.
5. **Done.** Your position shows in the app and is recorded on-chain.

{% hint style="info" %}
Your share is internal to the contract and accessed only from your wallet. That is what keeps the deposit self-custodial.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pool-party-xyz.gitbook.io/pool-party-docs/pool-party-v2-docs/for-users/deposit-into-a-pool.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
